Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Mini-Rotation 9/2007-8/2008 Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System
Provide Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to psychiatric inpatients in both group and individual settings. Develop and refine ACT for use with severely and persistently mentally ill and for use in inpatient settings. Supervisor: Robyn Walser, Ph.D.

Behavioral Medicine Rotation 9/2007-8/2008 Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System
Conduct psychological assessments and provide therapy to address the interplay between psychological, emotional, social, and physical factors that contribute to physical health and illness. These services are provided in the context of an outpatient psychology clinic, general medical clinic, and in a clinic that specializes in the treatment of Hepatitis C using antiviral medication. Inpatient Psychiatry Rotation 9/2007-8/2008 Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System
Conduct psychological assessments, provide psychotherapy individual patients, and lead groups on an inpatient psychiatric unit. Use treatments and skills such as ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, social-skills training, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Supervisor: Debra Stackman, Ph.D.

Mindfulness and Acceptance Skills 11/2006-6/2007 Psychological Services Center, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Co-led a mindfulness and acceptance skills training group, which was developed by myself and another graduate student by modifying several existing mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies whose efficacy has received some empirical support. Adult Psychotherapy Practicum 8/2004-6/2007 Psychological Services Center, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Provided psychotherapy to adult clients with a range of psychological and emotional disturbances (e.g., depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder). Recovery Strength Training Program 8/2002-8/2005 Provena Behavioral Health, Champaign, Illinois
Helped develop and implement an experimental treatment to individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses living in group homes. Treatment included cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis, emotion-focused and problem focused coping training, and social & life skills training. Supervisor: Howard Berenbaum, Ph.D.

Inpatient Psychiatry Assessment Practicum 8/2002-5/2003 Psychological Services Center & Provena Behavioral Health, Champaign, Illinois
Used the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV to determine formal DSM-IV diagnoses for psychiatric inpatients. Wrote feedback reports that were placed in patients’ medical file. Supervisor: Gregory A. Miller, Ph.D.

Neuropsychological Assessment Services Practicum 8/2001-7/2002 Psychological Services Center, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Administered neuropsychological and psychological assessment measures to community members suffering from a wide range of problems (e.g., traumatic brain injury, learning disorders, attention deficit disorder, psychosis) to determine the nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, and psychological strengths and impairments. Scored and interpreted assessment measures. Wrote integrated feedback reports that clients used to obtain a variety of services (e.g., social security benefits, psychiatric or medical care, individualized education plans). Administered neuropsychological and psychological assessment measures to college students who were referred to DRES because of academic difficulties.
